Marcy Donnelly and Chris Buerger, 50 and 52, combined their last names when they wed in 2000. AdvertisementThis as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Marcy Donnager. It started as a joke, then we realized it made senseNone of it seemed real, so we made up names for ourselves. But our adopted names didn't suit our last names, Donnelly and Buerger. Then, once we had our marriage certificate, we used it in the court proceeding to legally change our names to Donnager.

Jana also recommends that the board commences a review of strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company. At Freshpet, Jana also made operational and capital allocation recommendations in addition to reviewing a sale of the company. Here, there has been no such mention of a "Jana Dream Team," but it is a little too early for that.

Her son, a 33-year-old New York City man, had gone hiking in the Adirondack Mountains that March morning. Now, with up to 19 inches of snow forecast overnight and into the morning, she was worried. The same woman had called three weeks earlier because her son was late, and it turned out he was fine. Cellphones with GPS service have lowered the number of people who truly get lost in the woods. In 2022, I scaled Mount Marcy, the highest peak in New York State, with my son. Some Google searching revealed that Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48, was not out of reach for amateurs like us. Hiking had brought exhilarating new challenges and triumphs — and Mount Whitney promised those on a much greater scale. We’d been told to expect a lot of snow higher up, but we didn’t expect any this low. It would take me forever — and we didn’t have forever.

But State Sen. Matt Dolan, another Senate GOP candidate, told Business Insider in a statement that he agrees with the Lucas County GOP's condemnation of Majewski's "reprehensible remarks." JR Majewski, a controversial GOP House candidate in Ohio, is refusing to drop out of the race after referring to Special Olympics participants as "fucking retarded." As Business Insider first reported earlier this month, Majewski made the disparaging comments during an appearance on a conservative podcast. You know, no matter how hard you try, arguing on the Internet, it's like being in the Special Olympics," he said. On Sunday, the Lucas County GOP — the largest party organization in Ohio's 9th congressional district — voted to censure Majewski for his comments. “Seeing as how President Trump endorsed Mike Bost, Matt always finds himself on the wrong side of history,” Miller told CNN. After the GOP leadership’s candidate, Craig Riedel, was caught on tape criticizing Trump, multiple Republicans pulled their endorsement, including Miller and House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik. Why the race for the House is the one to watch in 2024

CNN —It won’t suck up anywhere near the oxygen of the presidential election, but the race for the US House of Representatives may be the most exciting campaign to watch in 2024. But in the House, Republicans’ shrinking majority has underscored the importance of the balance of power in Washington. House Republicans currently control 219 seats to Democrats’ 212, with four vacancies. Santos was expelled from the House last year, but he’s not absent from the race. In the interim, the museum is being led by three of its deputy directors: Naomi Beckwith, the chief curator; Sarah Austrian, the general counsel and secretary; and Marcy Withington, the chief financial officer and acting chief operating officer. Recently, the Guggenheim temporarily closed its entrance on Fifth Avenue after a protest inside the museum denouncing Israel’s military airstrikes in Gaza. Moreover, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi — designed by Frank Gehry, who also did the museum’s Bilbao satellite in Spain — has been delayed, in part by protests over the plight of migrant workers on the project, but is now scheduled to open in 2026. Westermann said it was too soon for her to say anything about Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, “except that I have been excited to see the building rising so near to me in a truly remarkable district of institutions of art, natural history, science and culture.”She added that she was well aware of the hurdles involved in running “four very distinctive museums in four distinguished buildings in four very dynamic cities.”“The demands on museum directors today are very complicated,” she said. “The skill set you need for a constellation like the Guggenheim is a challenge and opportunity that seems well mapped onto the kinds of experiences I’ve had.”

House Democrats were mostly stuck in DC for 3 weeks as the GOP struggled to choose a new speaker. Some Democrats told Insider they found a silver lining, like hitting the gym or dog-sitting. That left Democrats, already lined up behind House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, scrambling to find other things to fill the time. Some of the biggest hedge funds in the world are facing a problem that's proving just as challenging as predicting the markets. The Wall Street Journal has a story on that very conundrum, reporting on the tension at the $60 billion hedge fund Two Sigma between cofounders John Overdeck and David Siegel. While the structure of the modern hedge fund dates back to the 1940s, the industry really hit its stride during the 1990s. But I imagine not every hedge fund will want to go that route.
